Welcome to Acorn Class

A typical day in Reception class

Hello I’m Layla. I’m in Reception class.

In the morning we arrive at school and hang our coats up on our pegs.

We sit in our places and complete an activity and then it’s time for the register.

We learn phonics every day.

We have different activities to do each morning -including reading and writing.

We practise our handwriting.

We spend lots of time learning outside.

There are lots of activities to do.

Sometimes we have a dance before lunch.

I stand in a line to get my school dinner.

I love school dinners.

Some of my friends have a packed lunch.

We play outside after lunch.

We play games together.

We grow flowers and vegetables.

In the afternoon we learn maths.

We practise our maths.

We can do lots of different activities in the classroom too.

I like playing games with my friend.

We have different role play areas. We have a farm shop just now.

When it is sunny we have the water outside too.

I always want to play games on the interactive whiteboard.

We make models.

We all sit nicely at story time and listen carefully.

In the afternoon we have snack - fruit and milk.

Once a week we have PE.

We all line up at the end of the day ready to go home.
